Michelson Diagnostics is leading the way in developing high resolution Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) for use in cancer diagnosis.
OCT uses light and optics to project a laser into tissue and materials. This light is reflected back, a proportion of this light is detected using the OCT microscope.
Michelson Diagnostics' OCT is able to see images of tissue to a depth of up to 2mm below the surface, deeper than confocal microscopy. This is also at a much higher resolution than other imaging techniques such as MRI or ultrasound and our unique four beam technology gives us higher resolution than other OCT systems too.
Leading clinicians expect that future clinical studies will lead to our OCT being able to provide a non-invasive scan, reducing the need for painful, costly biopsies and providing them with immediate real time results.
Michelson Diagnostics is working closely with clinicians and scientists in pathology, oral cancer, dermatology, oesophageal, laryngeal, pharyngeal, lymph node, breast and tumours of the gastro intestinal tract.
Our microscopes have unique four beam technology, offering unprecedented resolution giving outstanding research results.
